Yew

Yew is a long-lived evergreen tree, planted in churchyards and prized by bowyers for its wood. Nearly all of it is poisonous to people and to livestock, and herdsmen keep their animals away from it. It is said to be the tree of death and of long life together. Healers do not use it, though in the mundane world a modern medicine is made from it.
