Gold

Coinage metal of the gold piece, occasional in large-scale and inter-regional exchange; dwarves treat gold as the pinnacle store of wealth.

Among the dwarves

Gold is dense, and among dwarves density carries symbolic weight. A gold ingot is the perfected, final form of the metal. Dwarves do not rework one, because transforming it into anything else degrades it, if it does not devalue it. Gold is one of only two metals that accrue as dwarven Wealth, the other being platinum.
